Hello, I'm Mateo

I am a software engineer passionate about web and mobile development. Since 2022, I have been working with Pixxelfactory, a web agency in Bolzano, where I create websites and web applications, taking care of both the technical side and the user experience. At the same time, since 2024, I have been attending a Master’s degree in Software Engineering at the Free University of Bolzano, a course that allows me to deepen my academic skills while continuing to work in the field.

I was born in Elbasan, Albania, and grew up in Bolzano, where my curiosity about computer science blossomed while studying IT at technical college. After graduating from high school, I went on to complete a three-year degree in Computer Science at the University of Trento, before returning to Bolzano to start my professional career.

During my three-year degree, I had the opportunity to explore various aspects of computer science and programming. In fact, in addition to reinforcing what I already knew about programming in C/C++, object-oriented programming with Java, and a little web programming, I also learned the basics of areas I didn’t even know existed, such as web app development using REST APIs and machine learning.

Today, I work as a web developer at Pixxelfactory, where I deal with professional websites and web apps. Here, I mainly program in PHP with CakePHP and develop projects based on Joomla, while continuing to strengthen my frontend skills with JavaScript. Since 2024, I have been studying for a Master’s degree in Software Engineering at the Free University of Bolzano alongside my work, which allows me to grow both in practice and in theory.

I like to think of my career as a continuous work in progress: every new project is an opportunity to learn something new. Outside of work, I enjoy experimenting—from blogging to my first adventures with Blender to studying foreign languages.
